About Jawbreaker
By Camile Javier for Veil
Presently: I’ve pretty much given up on solidly describing Jawbreaker. Easy answer - Jawbreaker is an online and offline zine. Vague answer - in my head, it’s something so much more. I don’t want it to be specifically one thing. It’s easily moldable and something we can project our dreams onto.
Jawbreaker was founded on the idea that everyone should have a space to freely express themselves. You don’t need a huge following, to be the best creative or valid in your creativity - writer, artist, photographer, musician, etc (even though you’re really high up there). Jawbreaker is meant to be playful, and everything in-between. Just as a Jawbreaker that you used to enjoy when you were a child, Jawbreaker Zine has many layers that have yet to be revealed. So send us the stuff you’re confident in and send us the stuff you’re not so confident in.
2021: Now, Jawbreaker is unsure of what it is and what space it holds on the internet. I think most people are like that so I hope that we can morph and mold to be something with feeling and more humanlike (as much a digital entity can be :]) so we can make you feel something.
take this as a reminder to reflect on who you are and the space you take up. Are you happy? are you sad? are you doing the things that you love? if you’re not why? You don’t have to have everything figured out to be worth something or anything. . . this turned into a ramble but thanks for listening, or rather, reading my stream of consciousness.
all the love, jawbreaker
xoxo
